Working in a busy hospital Many people we know have been to a hospital or to see a doctor. But do you sometimes think
about what it is like to work in a hospital? This is a doctor’s story Tell us about what you do every day. I’m a doctor. I am a
heart doctor (or surgeon). From Sunday to Thursday, I work in a hospital. I wear a uniform – it is a white cotton coat and a
thin white or blue headscarf. I look after my patients and I try to make them better. I get up very early because I usually
do operations in the mornings. In the afternoons, I visit the wards and check on my patients. I work with a small team of
other doctors and nurses. We are usually very busy. I often work for many hours. Some operations take a long time.
perhaps five or six hours. It is a difficult job, but I love it.
